National Junior Honor Society 2010-2011
The 2010-2011 members of the National Junior Honor Society started their year by volunteering at the Open House held for parents and students on August 16th. Members informed students attending of their homeroom assignment and locker numbers. They also acted as guides to new students to the building and helped incoming sixth graders learn to operate their locker combinations. As a reward for their volunteerism, Mr. Hairston treated the workers with pizza for dinner during the evening.
Their next school activity was to organize and spearhead our school spirit week held during the week of the football homecoming game. Students selected different dress styles for each day of the week and distributed flyers to students and posted them in the school. They also sold hat licenses for twenty-five cents each to students which gave them permission to wear hats on specific days. The week’s dress styles were: Monday – 80’s Day, Tuesday – Camo Day, Wednesday – Western Day, Thursday – Red and White Day, and Friday – Jersey Day.
Advisor of the Rock Hill Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is Mrs. Denise Fraley.
