Ironton-Russell Bridge Falcons
Nest Monitor Jason Dunlap of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources took this photo March 21, 2011. He reported that the nest is on the Kentucky side located in the beam behind the nest box. Will we have four? Are you concerned with the color of the egg to the right? Will it be viable? Does anyone know what the brown oval shaped object is next to the egg...the one that is the odd color to the right?
One of our parent falcons from nesting season 2010.
Four eggs for Ironton! Color looks more consistent among the eggs now:) Peregrine falcons incubate their eggs for 33 days...anticipated hatch date April 25th.
Hatching begins!

Mrs. Fraley,
As of Monday 4/25 two of the eggs were hatched. I’ll check them again Wednesday to see if the other two hatched, and I’ll try to get some pictures and send you.
Thanks, Jason

Message from nest monitor Jason Dunlap:
Mrs. Fraley,
We moved the chicks to the box today. Sad to say, there were only two. One must have fallen out and one of the eggs didn’t hatch. I think Chris told you, the banding is May 16th at 10:00am.
Thanks, Jason
